Nah, but when I was told I had cancer that scared me.

Yes I find it chilling.
Like the drones being used in the middle east conflict.

like icy said Drones. drones have killed hundreds of innocent civilians .

The grandfather of the man who invents intelligent, thinking, problem solving robots hasn't been born yet.
Someone's been watching far too much sci fi.
Last I looked Droned have operators.

You are a long way behind in technology, the actual flying can be done with GPS auto flight units, these are even available to hobbyists.
You simple program where and what altitude you want it to fly at and upload from a laptop.
The next stage of programing to target and fire at anything that gives of a thermal image that resembles a person is not that hard either.
The fact that it is being discussed at the UN tells me it is either here now or very close to being real.
Have a look at what is available to general hobbyists today and wonder what the military has and then say it doesn't exist now.

100% with you there Hawk. The real problem is that machines do exactly what they are programmed to do and that is never going to be with discrimination, no matter how that programming is intended ... it generates the worst human flaw: the war machine that in itself always has a war going somewhere .... ๐

TH the thought does not scare me at all because this is nonsense: "machines and not humans, will take the decision on who lives or dies.''
Machines do not think(reason) only perform according to human programming which can be internal or via an external link.

well we all know what humans are capable of, including programming with murderous intent.

I can't get the terminator theme outta my head now.
Thankyou Monman, my point exactly. ๐
