Unfortunately neither had anything of note to say. Oh yes there was the misogynist speech.
TA has shown he is incapable to handling himself in any situation which requires even minimal social skills......a complete and utter bumbling dill. ..
Can you show some examples of that pls? Or is that just in your opinion?
Gillard spoke very well... but it was the boring and the drone way spoke very well... who cares if she speak lots of articulate words if they mean nothing and have no substance behind them... or that she lies... or that it only accompanies a selfie afterwards... oops.. that was someone different... these are some of his classics... won't post what he said about the Chinese or the wave from a lonely man across a crowded room... or that infamous tape that was leaked by who knows who....

from not funding them, or legislating for them and not following through because there was no money, or only providing one or two fo the service and calling the scheme a success. to some of those policies being so bad for the economy that people were no longer being employed.
some were good but the majority were not.

why does our Prime Minister need attacks against Australia's former Government as his defence all the time ?
Attacking OUR former Government on a world stage makes our current Government look pathethic.
It's bad enough in question time .
Would someone please tell Tony Abbott that the job we elected him and pay him to do is to be our leader....He is no longer in Opposition and the fact that he spends so much time attacking the former Governments of our Country is a waste of our money...
cut the carp talk and cut the wasted time it takes up (as you said you would) and get on with the job we pay you to do.

John Nash springs to mind here. A distinct inability to adapt to and engage in almost all areas requiring social skills, yet was awarded. among other things, a Nobel Prize.
Crikey, the brilliant John Nash was not the leader and representative of a country on the world stage.

If Ms Gillard was able to perform the job of Prime Minister so well, and her acheivements so great, then why did not only her own party lose faith in her abilities, but the australian public as well.
They even reinstated the person she ousted rather than allow her to continue with her "acheivements"
I don't think it was an easy decision to oust her (as I am sure it wasn't an easy to do same to Rudd). In the case of Gillard the public opinion (unwarranted given what she had achieved) was hammered by the Murdoch press enough for the Labor Governement to feel the need to make a change.
It had little to do with her as a leader (by all accounts she was well liked and highly regarded) and nothing to do with legislation implementation (again she achieved much given the circumstances and the short time she had in office).
It was simply to do with election numbers and public opinion.
And whilst Labor lost the election anyway, the results were better than predicted if Gillard had been PM.

Didn't Rudd and Gillard speak to near empty seats on many occasions?
Australia is a little fish in a big pond. Those arrogant leaders that expect us to offer aid in hard times, come to fight in their country when war breaks out and to take the people that flee from their country if fear don't even offer us the respect to stay and listen to what we have to say. All good.. lets not help them out any more.
All leaders often do.
The difference here is that
a. he was a keynote speaker
b. this forum is a preamble to the G20. Given that the g20 is being held in Australia there would have been good reason to listen to Abbott.

Obviously, you did not listen to Gillard speaking; she is considered very intelligent, interesting and amusing speaker, that is why she is invited to speak. Or maybe what Gillard and Rudd said went right over your head; maybe you need the 3 word sentences that TA is so good at.
Yes, I saw some of Gillards speech OS.. not sure what country but somewhere in the Middle East.
The woman that said she would call out misogyny when she saw it was asked a question regarding the way women are treated in Middle Eastern countries (can't recall the exact question) and Gillard answered in um'ss and ar's and lots of hesitation and then tells the audience I can't tell another country what to do... hahahahaha.. hows that calling out misogyny???
Um. I think that is called diplomacy and showing respect for the country that is hosting you.
She was there to discuss free trade and if I recall correctly, some woman from New Zealand shouted out a question about what she had to say about the lack of women in Middel Eastern poilitics.
Given the laws in that country and why she went there in the first place, of course she is going to say that she can't tell a country what to do about it's laws.

I don't think empty seats on the opposite side of the house of reps is quite the same as empty seats for a key note address in front of an international audience.

What is the point of that post?
Perhaps you should read the transcript of Abbott keynote address. It is all one liners. Written out for him as if he was a 10 year old child giving a speech. And much has already been said that compares his way of speaking to that of Gillard.
Although in her case it was simply her Australian inflection. In his case, well, I"m not sure what excuse he has.
