US charity has released a video telling the heartbreaking story of a dog who was abandoned and left to die on a rubbish dump.
Workers for the LA-based Hope for Paws found Miley malnourished, infected and close to death on a junk heap on the city's outskirts.
The shelter's Eldad Hagar took Miley to veterinary intensive care, where her condition slowly improved. While she has still not fully recovered, the worst is over, and Miley looks set to lead the life she deserves.
Miley's story has been seen by 1.5 million people. Click through for more inspiring rescued dogs, including Mama Jade the rescued pitbull, a dog that learned to trust through parkour, and another that goes through the most astonishing transformation.

just reading your responses and recalling how well that poor dog responded to the kindness of it's rescuers made the tears well up in my eyes all over again.

I loved so much the way the fellow who came to her rescuse handled her... he was gentle and patient and yet persistant and had a sense of humour that is so needed sometimes when handling animals.
I hesitated watching the vidoe because I find that ill treated animals stay in nightmare for with me for so long afterwards.
This wasn't like that, it was so lovely seeing how she was taken care of and how accepting she was of that help... Love the end where she 'adopted' a tiny little orphan.
I would always support PAWS...
