Anyone who works with children anywhere has to have working with children certificate.
And any librarian who books anyyone to run a session of any kind for children in their library has a duty of care to ensure that person has that certificate and that nothing inapproprriate is said or done during that session.

...yet.
By all means it's nice for children to be read to in libraries, but why drag queens?
This is the question people need to ask themselves. Thee problem is that many folk have no idea that this is taking place in Australia. Just like the genetic modification of our food, many people have no idea what that is. let alone even having heard of Monsanto .The same thing with the gender fluidity program, apart from a few people in the know, many have no idea that this is taking place. This is because people are often working a full time job or two. Tired when they come home, they just can't keep abreast of what's taking place.
It's obvious someone wants to teach gender fluidity to little ones. And they think drag queens (adult entertainers) are just the ones to use.

I'd hate for yiour words to be prophetic icyfroth. I can actually picture down the track, the shock some people will have with .... "How on earth did this happpen"?
The safe guard at the system should be right at the beginnning with the selection of who gets to read to the kids, not near the end of the process with who of the selected adult entertainers should we not have allowed?
Meanwhile in the US (and who knows what hasn't been reported here?) Drag queens are not only twerking, they're teaching twerking, coming in announced with names of genitilia, vaginal scent and sexual arousal. All being taught to interactive todddlers.

This is the type of thinking that has led to groups being ostracised throughout history. Women were burned to death as witches because they dared to think differently to men. Today certain groups are the victims of witch hunts because of the same backward thinking and fear of those who are different. Thank goodness our dictionaries now have words to describe these people.

So what is the magic age at which it is safe for children learn that it's OK to be gay or transgender. Or should we keep hem in ignorance until they find out for themselves?
And at what age should we allow them to be read to by women in hijabs - to teach them it's OK not to be a Christian?
Or by indigenous readers to teach them it's OK not to be white?
Or by someone in a wheelchair to teach them that disable people are equally valuable members of society?
Is there a sliding age scale on which children are able to grasp the concept of equality?

Take them to the library - don't - their choice.
And certainly not to be judged by some twit with an ability to - wow - GOOGLE.

The moral obligation is also on the community, and libraries are a communal institution.
Remember: "it takes a village to raise a child".
Drag Queens are adult entertainers, and have their place in the adult entertainment industry, no problem.
Excellent point icyfroth! Exactly, these people are adult entertainers. They are from the raw and raunchy circuit. Crotch exposing , vaginal and, sexual-scent, sexual arousal names in the US and sometime soon to be announced here.

You're joking right?
We're just discussing an issue about little ones being exposed to an aspect of the adult industry via a gender fluidity program.

Don't try and water it down 4channel. You are fooling nobody. Surely yo are big enough to stand by your claims about drag queens?

The key words are in what yiou have said. "until they find out for themselves? " OK when a kid is old enough to know who they are then that's a right time. As I said, we are now in the era of It's cool to be gay" and there'll be pllenty of support. Until then let's not introduce genetic modification, I mean sexual modification alternatives of the vunerable.

I think it would be a good idea to have Muslim women or men reading children's stories to kids. Muslims are part of our society. And we're talking about letting kids just be little boys and girls. Many Muslims I have come across have respect for the Christian faith anyway. They, like Jews and Jehovah Witness etc. just think theirs is the right one. They share some of the same prophets. It would be a good idea to have someone dressed as a traditional Jew to read childrens stories as well.

Why are you bringing race and disability etc. into this discussion?
Can't little kids that are born as boy and girl just be left alone to be boys and girls? Why on earth should at such an early tender age they be told that there is a 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gender? This is a crucial time when they are developing. Why force them on to a different road?
