Drunk driver caught seven times over the limit before midday

it really does scare me when i read or hear these stories of drunk drivers.

my view drive over the limit (and my limit would be zero) go directly to jail, do not pass go, do not collect $200!

drink until you cant stand up by all means but get in a car and risk my life and every other persons, no way!

its christmas, the horror stories are about to begin, people will not get home alive or will wind up in hospital just because someone else thought 'i'm ok, i didnt drink much'

but they were wrong!

I have sometimes had to do the breathalyser tests in the morning and have thought..... bit of a waste of time, who on earth would  have been drinking on Tuesday morning?

but apparently some people's drinking from the night before can set the readings to over .05, which makes you wonder just how much they drank if the reading is still off the chart 10 hours later?

Some people are just idiots & a risk to everyone else on the road. They shouldn't be there.

We had some training facilitated by CARRS-Q for work.

As a general rule (and everyone is different) their formula was that you should not drive for a certain number of hours after your last drink e.g. if you had 8 drinks you should not drive for 8 hours after the last drink - obviously there are many impacting factors

CARRS-Q have a number of interesting factsheets

I'm not saying that this is what this case was , but............

People do work shift work.

What would be late morning for some, is late night for shift workers.

I know....doesn't excuse drink driving.

I'm  just offering up the excuse for being that drunk at 11 am

If your shift finishes at 8am, then some might need some 'down time', same as a day worker who knocks off at 5pm.

I watch RBT a lot and the state of some of the drivers from alcohol and or drugs has to be seen to be believed.  Some of them are truly repentant but many/most thnik it's one big joke.
