I am going to need a scotch, or two, before I can start making dinner tonight.
My OH has bought some lambs fry disgusting stuff, that he wants for dinner. I will have to google to find out how to cook it and get a gas mask for the smell.
Anyone else have things they don't like cooking?

Have a drink. Consider this horrible looking lump of meat. It's gross, yes? Have another drink.
Open the pack of meat. It stinks, yes? Have a drink. Or two.
Heat the frying pan and add oil. That part's ok. Have a drink to celebrate.
Add the meat to the frying pan.
GROSS SMELL ALERT.
Add onions ... they do make the odour a little easier to deal with.
Drink more drink. Boil potatoes for mash.
Turn the icky meat.
Turn the onions. So far, this is the only edible part of your meal.
When the meat is cooked, and the onions are browned, turn the heat off.
Have a sip.
Put aside the icky liver and keep warm.
Check the potatoes and boil when tender.
Have a BIG slurp.
Mash potatoes with butter and chives.
Have another drink.
DO NOT MAKE THAT HORRIBLE, NASTY, SALTY, ICKY, THICK, REVOLTING, YUCKY GRAVY.
Eat your mashed potatoes with some onions, and enjoy.

It could be worse. You could be in the US cooking lamb fries.

It's quite simple. Just tell him "You want it - you cook it!"
Then take yourself out to a restaurant for a nice meal.

Hi Jean,
the first time I ever used a slow cooker was to cook lambs fry. I was engaged to a builder that had a cooked breakfast every morning before work and his favourite was lambs fry with eggs. (He had great taste in women but not so much in food... meh!):smileytongue:
Anyway here's the recipe;
500g liver, cleaned and thinly sliced
250g rindless bacon, each rasher cut in half
3 large onions, sliced and separated into rings
oil
1tbls flour
salt & pepper
1tsp oregano
125ml rich beef stock
60ml sherry
2 tsp paprika
Preheat slow cooker on high while preparing casserole. Saute onions in a little oil until golden brown. Set aside. Mix together flour, paprika and coat liver. Brown in oil. Place liver then bacon, then onion in slow cooker. Season with salt & pepper and oregano. Sprinkle with remaining flour mix. Pour in wet ingredients.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4.
I use to put it on before I went to bed. It was ready when he got up at 4am.
Hope this helps.
