NSW Disability Services Minister Andrew Constance was invited to speak and was on the runsheet, but missed out as the Prime Minister took the podium.
A spokesman for Mr Rudd said he was not aware Mr Constance was scheduled to speak.
The NSW Government contributed $585 million and the Federal Government $300 million for a trial of the National Disability Insurance Scheme for 10,000 people in the Hunter Region.
Really???
come on Mr Rudd... I thought you were going to be the more inclusive PM.... and you want us to think you didn't see the running sheet??? not likely...
NSW put more money in.. they should have had top billing and be thanked wholeheartedly instead of being forgotten about.
You even tried to take the whole glory saying this all started with you and your 20/20 summit...
This is the one policy that I hope works and give Gillard credit for... you can't take her most successful policy and make it yours...

Mr Constance wouldn't be a Liberal minister per chance? ?:|
And if I recall correctly, the NDIS was an idea formed when he was PM last time around?

Sorry cat - I missed that line.
But I thought it did come out of the 2020 summit??:|

By 2007, when Labor took office, the concept of the National Disability Insurance Scheme was starting to take shape. The 2020 Summit took up the idea enthusiastically. Kevin Rudd was sympathetic and behind the scenes Jenny Macklin gave crucial support. Important, too, was winning over Bill Shorten, the charismatic former union leader.
