We make fortnightly power payments so that we dont get hit with a huge bill. I have been slack and never really checked the quarterly statements. I had nothing else to do today and checked the latest statement and it shows that we have a bit over $1200 credit . Does anyone know if we stop making the fortnightly payments they will take future bills from the $1200 credit. I can think of a lot better uses for $100 plus a fortnight than leaving it with AGL.:^O

My daughter pays by fortnightly payments, and when she had so much credit, they sent her a letter and a new card with a lower amount on it, they told her she had to keep paying or they would cancel her payment plan and she would have to pay the full amount.
She is happy to pay fortnightly.
purple_haize, when we spoke with AGL this morning, they said that they would immediately cancel the fortnightly payments until the credit was used up and then re-activate it when we had a zero balance. They sent us an email confirming that. We pay all of our bills fortnightly, it saves nasty bills later. It doesn't leave much over after mortgage etc is paid, but we manage to live OK and we both have built up a small savings account for our personal buys, like clothes and gifts. I must admit that I normally keep a close check on the finances. My OH tends to leave it to me,

You don't have to let them withdraw from your account.
You can set it up your end to pay them fortnightly. It's just as easy to set up a BPay from your account to pay them whatever you want as often as you select.
