I heard him say today on sky that he wants to emulate Howard Thatcher and Reagan.

He's a first class fool.

It's a bit scary actually. They were strong believers in trickle down economics, which means you strengthen the richest with the expectation that their wealth will trickle down to the general population (ie through jobs, investment in communities etc).

In some countries, where businesses have good and wholesome hearts, it works a bit. In Australia it does not work... Our big businesses do not have good or wholesome hearts, they lack community spirit and are notably amongst the worst in the world for philanthropy and community involvement.

I can't think of any big business in Australia that demonstrates it'd do anything other than stuff its increased profits deeper into its fur lined pockets. Can you?

Some big business treat their staff well, but it is a rarity.

Abbott was referring in the interview I saw to economic management. Well we all know what the minimum wage was under Reagan.
