its an exaggeration of the facts . which if said to deliberately to deceive is by definition a Lie.

You could but I don't think it was a lie, more not checking and making sure it was the Gospel Truth.

If it was Rudd who made the mistake, it would be called a lie. And they still call the "no CO2 tax" staement by JG a lie, even when given the whole quote, over and over. Sadly it works in convincing the braindead to vote LNP even if it means most will be considerably worse off as a result.
