Oh no!  What with hurricane Harvey and now this, there is so much danger around there at the moment.  I am so sorry this is all happening ... so sending you the very best for it to calm down and everything getting under control extremely quickly ....

Oregon is like Oz in this regard...........come summer, the thunderstorms breed lightning.....and we have fires.  That's why we are home base for Erickson Air Crane........who have fought fires in Australia.

I remember when the USA sent one here to help not that long ago, it was something to behold watching it working, an amazing piece of fabulous engineering.

What's really amazing is that those Sikorskys are obsolete, and Erickson has to fabricate replacement parts for them.

Not much..........they've got the Chetco Bar fire 10% contained, but it's burned almost 150K acres.  Yesterday was OK smoke-wise, but today it's back.
