Further to the Frozen Berries saga.

For those interested in any outcomes from the Frozen berries scare, it appears changes to the food labelling requirements are on the cards.

Looks like a very good idea and great design, easy to see.

And if consumers buy more local produce, the better.

any half decent govt would place an imediate ban on imports of these types of food from the country they came from as not suitable for human consumption.

its all very well to have our photo taken signing deals to allow imports of foods but when the health of the people you represent stats to suffer you must act in the interest of thos people!

Since this first raised it's ugly head, I have been buying fresh and freezing them myself.

It's even cheaper.   Gently  lay the berries on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer.

When frozen, you can put them in a ziplock bag.

I suppose that would work if you can get the fresh berries at a reasonable price but it's not an option for me I'm afraid.

I read about that.

It's really annoying that this is happening again, after all the trouble we had a couple of years back.

I know labour prices are dearer here but I really think we would be a lot better off growing our own berries here & freezing them. We seem to be importing too many things (some types of fish spring to mind) from countries with very dubious health standards.
