Was homosexuality the crime?  Or just the actions?  Funny that, because the actions (except some strange things that nurses will tell you about) are practiced my a large minority of heterosexuals, and they were never charged, (to my knowledge).

Homosexuality was a crime in the U.K. The brilliant Alan Turing was given the option after he was convicted of either going to jail or having female hormones administered.He chose the latter and sometime afterward committed suicide.Shameful treatment of a national hero.
