Burwood Girls High School: Anger over gay parenting documentary ‘Gayby Baby’
PARENTS are angry that a prominent government high school had organised for its 1200 students to watch a documentary on gay parenting instead of normal classes.
Burwood Girls High School sent a flyer to parents last week saying all students would attend a special screening of the documentary Gayby Baby during periods two and three on Friday. Students were instructed to wear purple, with purple cupcakes served after the movie.
But after a backlash from parents, including outrage at the flyer which depicted a young, shirtless boy with a tattoo on his chest, principal Mia Kumar yesterday offered parents the option to exclude their daughters from the screening if they notified the school in writing.
NSW Education Minister Adrian Piccoli has now directed the Department of Education to ensure the film is not shown in school hours, telling 2GB Radio on Wednesday while the schools accepted diversity, “schools are not places for political issues to be aired”.
“During school hours we expect them to be doing maths and English and curriculum matters.
This movie is not part of the curriculum and that’s why I’ve made that direction,” Mr Piccoli said.
He also admitted that he hadn’t seen the film, which follows the lives of several children with same-sex parents.
"principal Mia Kumar yesterday offered parents the option to exclude their daughters from the screening if they notified the school in writing."
How dare they?
Who is pushing this relentless homosexual agenda, and why?

So is my eldest daughter and when she was at school in the early 1970s the same attitude was still very prevalent.
I had to end up taking her to specialists before the teachers would stop trying to change her to right handed.

Promoting and even celebrating the abnormal as thought it was something special to be admired is ..............dare I say it ..............stupid
I suppose I should confess here that I myself am also abnormal. So abnormal in fact that only about 10 - 12% of Australians share my abnormality. Yet there is a list almost as long as my arm of clubs that exist specially to celebrate it.

And were Leonardo da Vinci's exceptional talents more or less abnormal than his homosexuality?

the_great_she_elephant, yet another red herring, one in proportion to the posters avatar. Throwing that into the already murky, muddied pool of confusion is a tactic. Equating left handedness with homosexuality is pretty comparison don't you think?
I have never heard of any instance where a group of left handed people even dreamed of compelling others to celebrate their .

Hi everyone, the discussion is getting a little heated. Please be sure to keep your communications civil. Thanks!

bluecat*stopsdancing, would you care to elucidate on how you came to your conclusion ?
oI could not have been any logical thought process, maybe a crass attempt to disguise your inability to prove or at least attempt to prove that normality and abnormality are equal.
The fact remains that and normality are diametrically opposed they are mutually exclusive one to the other.

Insults do not an intelligent argument make.

I'm not sure what you mean by "pretty comparison" but if you read my link you would realise that the analgy is extremely apt.

If you read my posts you will notice that I was not suggesting anyone shoulfd be compelled to celebrate anything. I was responding to your assertion that anything thta deviates from the norm is aabnormal and that to celebrate anything that fallsunder your your definition of abnormal is "stupid."
