I don't agree that this was tongue-in-cheek.  She is making a strong comment on this example of the oppression and subjugation of women.  This she has done for ever.

My guess is that Germaine was giving an interview and the question was asked so she answered.....  That's all that is required for her comments to be taken out of context and be blown out of proportion for those who have a need to feel outraged on a daily basis.

She is entitled to her opinion................. I don't think Prince William tied her down and forced the pregnancy on her.
