Gillard is gone by next week

I have just finished reading all the reports about Labor & the dire mess they have found themselves in.

I'ts frightening just how fast it's moving now in favour of Rudd, the most hated man in the Labor party.

All the reports are rock solid in their reports that Gillard has lost the support of the caucus & more disastrous for her is the loss of the unions support.

She is digging in, will not go, is determined to take the Labor party down with her.

What a mess, what a disaster for this country, how can anybody support this type of chaos & dysfunction we are witness to every day.

I'm heartsick to contemplate the enormous mess Labor has made of our borders, they are now talking invasion of our country, Abbott will have to make some very hard decisions  & talk is the defence forces will have to be ramped up into a virtual war effort.

Invasion?  LOL  Less than 2% of the world displaced people escaping all the different wars ends up in Australia.    People do not abandon all their possession, friends & communities to take their families across the world and then on unseaworthy boats, risking their lives, unless they have no choice.  If the sight of the ricketty boat does not stop, them nothing will.  Actually, now with troops leaving Afganistan there will be more people running away from Taliban, and as Syrian conflict drags on, it is only matter of time before refugees from Syria start making it down to Indonesia.

Just because there was  a lull in boat arrivals in the end of Howard government does not mean that when TA gets in, it will be any different.  After all, we are now pretty much back to the arrangements Howard had.

I work with a lot of africans and a lot of them are angry about the boat people.  One guy (he's from sierra leone) said that these boat people are the ones with MONEY who can afford to pay people smugglers.  He said he would rather vote for tony abbot, and further stated why can't these boat people do things properly like me and my people did and enter the country through the normal migrant intake.  He said that these boat people are just like leeches feeding on people's ignorance-just like the ignorant post from the above person.  Risking their lives?they know what they are paying for.  What about the poor people who can't afford to pay a people smuggler.

I can't believe that people would believe that garbage about leaving family, possessions, and coming out in a boat-these are the people with MONEY.  The rickety boat is just a ploy to appeal to communist hippies in this country, people like green party voters.

That is spot on, but Abbott won't be able to stop them unless he orders the navy to sink the boats and that wont happen either. Laws here need to be changed to discourage the boats.

It is criminal that those most desperate are not getting here and those better off that are able to afford to are.

Yes, not everybody is stone broke, they probably sold what ever they could.  But the people using people smugglers are NOT rich, the really rich people come in planes.  The really rich people getting out of the wartorn countries live in Paris or London.  Those people going to Australia on boats are not rich by any standard.  None of them is arriving with luggage or gold or any other possessions. 

Oh, OK so the boats are not rickety?!!!  So why so many people die trying to get here?  of-course they are rickety, they are on one way voyage; the poor fishermen who own them would not let them go if they were still useful.
