This topic has been discussed a few times on this forum, however, an anonymous poll as never been taken.
Do you really believe in man-made global warming?

watching the recent David Attenborough series Africa and seeing what is happening to that continent demonstrates the stark realities of global warning. humans have done so much damage to this planet with deforestation, mining, land clearing, pollution etc not to mention all the endangered and extinct animals. we are a dangerous species who have little respect for this beautiful and vibrant planet.

The earth has been going through cycles of heating and cooling since it's creation, and will continue to do so long after all of us are dead and gone no doubt.
Nothing in nature ever remains the same, never has done.

yes absolutely but in earlier times the earth was covered in forests and didn't have the added man made damage caused by mining and pollutions etc. these have only occurred in the past few hundred years and who can only say what difference it will make.

while this is true, it also is the equivalent of poking ones head firmly in a bucket of sand. it as a position ignores all that is proven to be irrefutable evidence that in fact the warming period spawned by the industrial revolution is the culprit. the spike is without doubt linked to the unprecedented burning and release of carbon from coal and fossil fuel like oil which has never been burned as fuel in the quantities it is now.. its man's doing. even a largely sceptical and reluctant forum such as this now seems to accept it as the case.

Agreed
and
combined with the victimization, illegalization and subsequent massive drop in production of the best plant carbon "bank" or sink known on the planet that was also one of the most prolific plants grown on the planet for food, oil, paper and fabric pre 1920 and you have your answer

The use of hemp dates back to 10,000 BC in Taiwan (http://www.hemphasis.net/History/history.htm).
In fact hemp-based paper, textiles, rope, construction materials and even plastics are the tried and true low tech alternative to modern synthetics that consume large quantities of fossil fuel during manufacture.
Prior to the industrial revolution, the vast majority of textiles, clothing, canvas (the Dutch word for cannabis), rope and paper was made of hemp.
It was only with the industrial revolution and the proliferation of machinery run on cheap fossil fuels that more sophisticated alternatives, such as cotton, wood-based paper, and eventually petroleum based plastics became cheaper alternatives.

I haven't voted because there isn't a box that says: "Man has CONTRIBUTED greatly to the acceleration of global warming."
So as Lakeland says above, whilst the world does go through natural cycles that lead to natural destruction, it has always done without human intervention.
Unfortunately, the smarter humans became the more we did to destroy our surroundings.

So far.......less than half of the forum members who have voted, believe that man has caused global warming.....:-)
54%.....say no.........

That would appear to be a yes vote...:-)

Water Vapor makes up 95% of all greenhouse gases.
Carbon Dioxide makes up only 3.618%
Of this 3.618%, man is responsible for only 0.117%...how insignificant!
Yet, 3.501% is natural.......
