From what you quoted earlier regarding the Offerings to the Gohonzon - it continues:
Naturally, the most important aspect of the altar is the object of worship itself.
The altar is not an object to be worshipped. How can you worship an altar? We don't chant in front of a Buddha. What is to be 'worshipped' is the Gohonzon which is the sacred scroll enshrined in a Butsudan. The Gohonzon is a reflection of our own Buddha Nature. It acts a a mirror. So, literally we are 'worshipping' our own BuddhaHood contained within us all.

Hmm it actually continues with this:
Naturally, the most important aspect of the altar is the object of devotion itself.
Why did you change the word devotion to "worship"? Interesting.

Ahh that website basically cut and paste the info from the SGI official website but changed the word devotion to worship for some reason.
This is what is on the bottom of the page you read:
This web site is not affiliated with nor sanctioned by any organization affiliated with Soka Gakkai International.
If you want to learn about my branch of Buddhism it's best to look at the official website : Soka Gakkai International.

ah OK. I wouldn't change something like that myself. I understand the difference between devotion and worship. Its a question that is asked of me often regarding praying in front of altars. Sometimes it is difficult to explain the difference between the two and its obviously a BIG difference.
