I have no idea what you're trying to say here.
I've gonna give you an example why believing something without rationality or reason is dangerous, Eve. Young Earth creationist want creationism taught in science classes. You might say they're bad people doing it to suit their agenda. But you're wrong. They're good people who believe the bible is accurate.
I am not arguing that bad things are only done by religious people. I am arguing against the bad things that only could have done because they're religious.
"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." -- Steven Weinberg
But you're saying that this is God's fault - that it is the fault of God that people misinterpret (intentionally or not) what he supposedly said or intended.
and I agree with the quote (yours) because it's the evil people who try to manipulate the true meanings to suit their own agendas - some of em just happen to know a bit about the Bible.
I just can't believe that our world exists by accident - its too perfect (I mean nature) there has to have been some sort of plan, some reason, some explanation for it's existence as it is -
Is God "human"? I don't know - who decided that we were made in God's image? Did man write that to differentiate himself from the animals or other parts of nature? to elevate himself in the order of things?
But whatever we believe, however we came to be here, it's a given that "something" pretty amazing and powerful started it all - Christians just happen to call that God

Where did I say it's God's fault??? I'm saying if you truly believe in a perfect God, she wouldn't truck up so badly to write a rule book no one can understand. Worst than that, she didn't even preserve the original book. I have a higher standard for my GOd.
No one thinks the universe happen by accident. Saying God started it all doesn't explain anything. If you say God is an intelligent, all powerful entity. Would you also say God just happened by accident. Nothing than complicated just pop out of nothing. YOu're replacing one mystery with another one. Have the humility to say we just don't know. BTW nature is far from perfect. And even worst 99.99999999999999 with another gazillion 9s of the universe is uninhabitable. That doesn't say perfect to me.
I tend to agree something pretty amazing and powerful started it all. If that's the definition of GOd, I can go with that. How then you conclude it's the bible God is beyond me???

so we've come full circle eh?
Did "God" write a rule book? I know he is attributed with The ten Commandments, but first of all, that was pre Christianity and I'm reasonably certain that even if they were written down at the time, that no one would have known how to read it or take dictation if they were delivered orally.
How do you know the original "book" hasn't been preserved? Look around you - look at the patterns in nature - look at things such as Pascals triangle, the Fibonnaci sequence, the Golden Ratio. Science revealing/ explaining nature.
I have said many times that I don't know and that whatever this "force" is, the Christians call "it" God, other religions or groups such as scientists label it something else - simply because they have to call it something, but as yet they do not understand it.
"And even worst 99.99999999999999 with another gazillion 9s of the universe is uninhabitable."
Uninhabitable by whom/what/when? Are you so audacious as to believe that the whole universe was created to fulfill human needs? How do we know what the intention was for the rest of the universe? Why it is as it is? How do we know that the world as we know it isn't just a small cog in something far greater than us? sort of like you need a radiator in your car to make the whole thing work - I posit that we have no idea what "the whole thing" even is - farless what our part in it all is.

We can go in circles about the philosophical argument for God. I don't have a problem with that. I just have a problem with believing in the bible as a book to live your life by.

I did object to him calling people dogs and worse.
And further, I don't even call his words preaching.
They are just hatred and I've not met a preacher that preaches pure hatred or calls such hatred preaching.
