Yes religious people can have a view. But you need to debate it and give rational arguments. Saying coz' it says so in the bible is not an argument. Imagine another religion is started who's doctrine said that blacks are not people and legislate for that based on majority rules.
The majority do not get their way in our or or the AMerican constitution.
you didn't read what I wrote, did you?

But that's is exactly what Muslims and Christians believe, that the religious texts are inspired by God. If they believe that God exists, why would they not believe it was possible for the Books to be divinely inspired? ?:|
Name two books that's caused more confusion and deaths around the world? I rest my case.
WHat intelligent creator wouldn't you say?

There's an old saying, Bob.
I am only responsible for what I say, not what you understand.
So, isn't it possible that what God actually said has been misunderstood, or lost in translation somewhere along the line of when it was said and when it was written down?
You need to remember who wrote the Bible (or the Koran) and you need to remember who is now interpreting what was written, their reasons why they are interpreting it and what sociological factors affect their interpretations.
It's not just religious text that are twisted and manipulated to suit a different agenda.
And now I anticipate the next question of "so why does God allow these misinterpretations to continue"?
Like any parent - maybe He realizes that sometimes a kid will never believe something they are told unless they experience it for themselves first. Some things you just have to learn by doing.

You had no case to rest. You said yourself there is a lot of good to be learnt from them. Books don't cause deaths, people do. Or are you saying the communist manifesto was responsible for....how many deaths? I will let you come up with the figure.

I have no idea what you're trying to say here.
I've gonna give you an example why believing something without rationality or reason is dangerous, Eve. Young Earth creationist want creationism taught in science classes. You might say they're bad people doing it to suit their agenda. But you're wrong. They're good people who believe the bible is accurate.
I am not arguing that bad things are only done by religious people. I am arguing against the bad things that only could have done because they're religious.
"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." -- Steven Weinberg
