evening everyone ..

good to see you here oz ..long time no post !!

saw the neuroligist  today ...very lovely man ..took us through everything

and has given miss m some meds to help relax her muscles ..her movements are involentary..which stops her from relaxing ,which then stuffs up her sleep and her whole day  !..she doesnt eat or drink properly when she is sooo tired ..let alone cope with the physio ect !

her reflexes are carp !

was hard to hear ,,even though we all knew in our hearts ..

she will be a high care special needs child .

severe developmental and mental delay ..severe irritability

her life expectancy will be cut by 2 thirds ..Smiley Sad

respitary problems becasue she canot move about will be a major concern !

he feels she will not go to main stream school ..

most likely be in a wheelchair !

there is significant damage to the cerbal cortex ,which controls muscles and movements ,and the part of the brain that controls communication and speech ...

nearly 2/3rds has been damaged ,he feels it was a vascular event ,either stroke or clot

during pregnancy ..or she could not metabalize the nutrients she needed

her brain was developing normally ..then this happened causing major damage and shrinkage !

going to be a case of try to get her as far as we can with intervention..

expect the worst and hope for the best !!

dil was so pedantic during both pregancies ..with her health ,what ever she ate she checked if it was safe ..had never smoked or drank ..so unfair !

Morning all.

So sorry to hear that Annie. xx Even though you were expecting something like that it will still be devastating for you all. Poor little one will never lack love though. You are right, it is not fair and very sad.

Re: Good Morning

morning katy and lion and everyone

having a lazy day here today, weather is pleasant and sunny, they are predicting a very bad fire season this year, had some heatwaves already and the paddocks are so dry.

been on the phone to telstra this morning, gotta love em, somehow a nsw landline phone number has been added to our account, and our last few bills have been sent to a nsw address.  very strange since we have never lived there in our lives, someone has made a major stuffup lol,  so I have an overdue account now and I told them there is no way I am going to pay someone elses phone bill, seriously thinking of changing providers all together.

Re: Good Morning

Hi Katy  Lilli is two years old now and as trained as she ever will be.

We have our system in place, she goes out and comes in to check on me about ever hour, Lilli comes inside about 7 oclock and is happy to be shut in for the night.

About 11 oclock at night she start to jump all over me telling me it is time to go to bed.

I brush her at night so she stands and looks at the draw the brush is in.

I go to bed and watch a bit of TV and Lilli brings her ball in, I have to throw the ball out the bedroom door and she fetches it, do this about twenty times till my arm feels like it is falling off.

In the morning when she thinks I should get up she jumps all over me.

One morning I woke up with her licking my hair YUK.

During the day about 3.30 she waits for the children coming home from school and begs for Potato chips.

She says hello to every one going past but if any one comes inside her house she will not let them near her.

She is more gentle these days and does not bite or scratch you when she plays.

She is the best little friend ever ๐Ÿ™‚

Re: Good Morning

Afternoon all.

Lilli sounds like she is settling down a bit now. I am sure you are her best friend too.

Oz, I think it is going to be a bad fire season again. Early this year we had a grass fire that took off across country and burned 10000 hectares of farmland. Just north of us, and south of Mum's area. That is a big grass fire. Lots of old gum trees went too, and I think a couple of homes. Our councils have been slack in recent years and not done a proper roadside clean up either. The greenies don't help either as fallen timber is supposed to stay where it falls, even roadside. Idiots are just creating corridors for fire to travel.

OH is in hospital atm. He has had all sorts of heart tests, and so far so good. He will be home later today, but has to return at some stage to have a stress test. He is a fit bloke, but his brother passed away at 59 from a heart attack, so they are taking that into account.

Better go do some work before he comes home and finds I have done not much. Grocery shopping and laundry aside, and visiting him. ๐Ÿ™‚
