Re: Good Morning

Hi, everyone.

I know it is not morning, but I have not been here for a while and thought I'd pop in and see what everyone is doing.

Great to see you making some Me time, dear Hawk. Hope all the legal stuff is soon over and you can have a reasonable normal life again.

Lionrose, so sorry to hear about your wait for surgery. You must get so frustrated and angry when in so much pain.

I hope you are lucky and get called in sooner.

I had to see a Vascular Specialist. having a lot of problems and pain in my left leg. After tests I have been told I had narrowing of the artheries and needed Angioplasti, but because I am a Pensioner and don't have private Health Insurance, the waiting list is about three and four month long.

Surprise, surprise, had a phone call last week to go for blood tests and ECG, my appointment for the procedure is for this Thursday. The Specialist told me that the procedure is risky, but so is doing nothing. I could finish up with a blood clot killing me in my sleep.

So, I am going for it. After all I'll be 80 in four month, maybe I'll make it to celebrate or maybe the family will celebrate my life without me. Either way, sometimes we have to take risks in our life.

I hope everyone else is coping fine and preparing for the cold winter. I dread the thought of spending winter at home after the last couple of years enjoying winter in far North Queensland with my family. Dr. told me I can't fly on a plane anymore, so I researched going by Train. LOL, takes two and a half days from Melbourne to Cairns and costs almost $1,000.- without a sleeping berth. I could never expect my daughter to pay such ridiculous money for a trip that takes only three and a half hours and costs about $120.- on prebooked flights.

OK, that is my whinge for today.

Hope everyone has a better day.

Take care.

Erica

Re: Good Morning

Thank you, Lionrose.

I am already taking a blood thinning tablet, Clopidrogel. Am not alowed Aspirin. Have bad reactions to it.

Your heater sounds ideal. Wish I could have ducted AC, but the Unit does not belong to me and the Retirement Village Commitee will not alow alterations, even if we want to pay for anything.

Re: Good Morning

Hello to all

Rose I hope you get your opp soon and all goes well.

Hi Erica the health system could be a lot better if the government didnt waste so much tying to look good to countries that dont matter, time to look after our own.

Hope all goes well with your Opp and catch up again latter in the year, again cercomstances are that we cant get away this May due to things that are happening here.

Sorry if have missed someone, its been a day of chasing everyone thats not doing their jobs, I seem to spend all my time sorting out stuff people are not doing

Re: Good Morning

Good morning everyone.

Just checked, yes, it is still morning.

Came home yesterday and still have to be resting. Surgeon cut the left groin and founf the vein so clogged, he could not enter with the catheder. Cut my right groin and wnt in through a semi circular way. Found two bad blockages in my left leg. One in the thigh and one in my knee. He opened them up, but I have to see the Vascular Specialist next week, because there are a lot more problems.

Well, at least they are trying to help me and I don't have to wait for long.

Lionrose, I keep my fingers crossed for you, so you too will not have to wait much longer.

It's no fun getting old when the body starts falling apart. I wish I was a Vintage car. A few spare parts to replace and feel like new again.

Dear Hawk, how annoying to have to do the work others are supposed to be responsible for. Just shows the same in almost every situation, once you show your capabilities, everyone else starts depending on your willingness to take the burden upon your shoulders. They know you to well to know that you would not leave a job half done.

I do hope everything wil soon be over and done with and you get your own life back again.

Everyone else, please take care of yourself and try to find something good in your life every day. Life is to short to dwell only on negative things.

Spread some smiles and hug the ones you love.

Erica

Re: Good Morning

Good morning friends.

It's a bit dull outside, fine drizzle, but at least the wind abated and it is not as cold today.

I have had a wonderful Mothers Day at my son's home. DILs parents were also there and my younger daughter who lives on the other side of Melbourne. The only one missing was my eldest daughter, but she phoned for a long chat and sent me an email with photos of the family in Atherton. Really lovely and happy day.

Then came night. Grrrrrr! After the operation I should be feeling better, but now both legs are giving me hell as soon as I go to bed. Up and down, up and down most of the night. In the end I took a strong pain killer, went back to bed and did not care if I never woke up again. Turning into a real sook in my old age.

But, here I am. Still in PJs and dressing gown and contemplating what things I could do to cheer myself up again.

Nicnacs, I do hope that they can help you with your breathing problems and you can chase the grandchildren without any problems. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

A meeting would be nice. Perhaps later in Sring. Hopefully Hawk will have all the problems behind him and spare time to join us again.

The sun is trying to come out. To me it is like a smile from heaven and cheers me up.

I hope it does the same for everyone and a good start to the day.

Take care all and spread tasfleur's bear hugs and smiles.

Re: Good Morning

Hi Koops, Katy, Rosie,  Tas, Carla, Erica and every one that hasnt posted in a while

Erica I hope your pain seatles soon, there is nothing worse than not being able to sleep.

It does suck not being able to do things we once did easily as things are not as flexable as they once were.

and suffer for days to weeks when we do a little too much.

Rosie hope you recover quick as well
