Some create it.... why I don't know? Negative attention?
on 01-07-2013 10:29 PM
Interesting theories:
People thrive off negative attention for a couple reasons:
1.It's the only attention they know. If they have only ever got negative attention, then they think that is all there is to attention. They don't even know it's 'negative', to them it's just attention.
2.Negative attention is much more dramatic and animated. It's more fun. If you help someone, you get a small 'thanks'; but yell at someone and you can get a huge fight.
3.Often people feel they are 'bad' and don't deserve anything good, like positive attention, for example. They know they are bad and wrong so they want to be treated how they feel.
4.Negative attention often 'pushes another persons buttons' and some people like to manipulate other people. And negative is much easier then positive.
5.People would rather be praised then punished, but will take being punished over ignored. This works with attention too. Anything is better then being ignored.
