Broadband allowance, greencat.. we only have 12GB a month at present with mobile broadband. The NBN workers are here in town at present.  I doubt the NBN will be rolled out  by the time the election is over though. Depending on who wins that, will make a difference if we get NBN from the street to the house for free (Labor) or have to pay to get it from street to house(LNP).

We don't have ADSL2 and ADSL is slow and expensive for the no. of GB's you get, same as in other regional areas. Although we are only 10 mins from 1 city, 30 minutes from another and 1.5hrs from Sydney, so not in an isolated area.

i'm an hour from melbourne in a regional area and get ADSL2+

you NSW folks are rather backward.

Just managed to sit down for a while and have a coffee. Daughter and I finally managed to get out and buy a carpet shampooer. I am very impressed. I sat and watched her clean her living room carpet, and it did a beautiful job. Too late to start mine now. Think hubby will give me a hand with it maybe later.

Hi Countess. We went to Godfreys, but they were low on stock, Good Guys, but they didnt have what we were looking for, so Harvey got the sale. It was $900 with $150 off on sale. Daughter and I went half each, so neither of us were really hurting. lol. It has a 5 year guarantee  ( paid extra for that) I don't see any point buying a cheap unit really as they have a narrower brush width and less brushes to do the heavy work. This one has a heater too to boost the temp. Daughter has her house cleaned twice a year as she has small kids, and it was costing her 300 to do the whole house.
