Re: Good Morning

Annie he is a Thrush and I have been told dog food is the best for him.

son is bringing cage over tomorrow, I am hoping if I put him out side on a hook his mum may come and feed him.

I suppose I will be up with the birds in the morning to feed him.

Re: Good Morning

The chances of the bird surviving after being caught by the cat are minimal............it will probably die of shock.

Maybe try putting two bells on the cats collar to stop her hunting......and protect the wildlife.

Re: Good Morning

Lilli has a bell on her collar, this was a baby nesting bird so a bell would make no difference.

Bird still alive this morning and eating well.

Re: Good Morning

That's so sad. Don't you have wildlife protection laws about wandering cats in NZ? I always thought NZ had a lot of care for its environment.

Definitely use two bells, but preferably keep the cat inside where it can't kill wildlife. Could you build a cat run? That might help.

Re: Good Morning

If your cat is a hunter the responsible thing to do is to either keep her inside or supervise her outside.

I am glad to hear the little bird made it through the night.
