Good Morning

Good morning Flannie, Katy, Rose and everyone .....  Heart

Just catching up a little this morning and reading back a bit .. oh my, some wonderful rescues there, you are wonderful people   xxxxxxx

Rose, you have stitches?  Are you okay, what has happened .. I haven't scrolled back too far so I don't know? xxx

Frantically sewing huge cushion covers this weekend in between visitors, working and general stuff.

A friend has given us a cane lounge suite that is decades old;   the cane is in fabulous condition but oh my, the cushions are so worn down you can't sit on them at all and their original covers are totally threadbare and the print has worn off.  So it is start from scratch and so far so good.  It's a lovely set, and it was going to end up on  the tip so we've "rescued" it ....  Smiley Tongue

I'm using a fabulous sewing machine that would be almost 45 years old for this project, all made of metal and one of the best machines ever made (in my opinion).  Fully reconditioned and purring like a kitten, tough as a tank too, they don't make them like that any more.

Off to do more with it, hope you are all having a most splendid weekend? xxx

Good Morning

Morning all.

Tas your furniture restoration project sounds great. The thing is that older furniture is usually much better quality than we see these days. Much better to renovate it than be disappointed with something newer. OH is going to pick up my late father's favourite chair and bring it here. Mum wanted to get rid of it, but I couldn't do that. Needs some work underneath, and a steam clean. Bit of work will bring a lovely chair back to life.

Yes we are all animal rescuers. 🙂 I don't think I could deal with a wallaby though. One of us would end up in the boot, and it might just be me.

Good Morning

Good Morning! 🙂

LOL at the wallaby waking up in the boot. You know Annie, it might have been just napping when you picked him up, lol. I've rescued a few animals. A lot of birds, though most didn't make it.

An old lady in NYC (poor eye sight) found an old cat laying on the sidewalk in the rain. It was still breathing, so she took it home and gave it a warm bath and something to drink. It was still to weak to eat anything though. She took the cat to bed with her and snuggled with it to help keep it warm.

In the morning she woke to the thing standing over her snarling and hissing. Turning out it was some kind of giant rat that came over on ship and got loose!

Walked back over empy handed then saw head lights

Good Morning

Lol Jimmy, must have been a big rat. I saw a program once about rats in urban areas, they can be huge.

Annie, lots of words we can't say, even if they are innocent. lol.

Line up at the headmaster's door for the cuts. 🙂

Good Morning

LOL at Annie getting a beep for that hahaha

Tas I just had a skin cancer biopsy and a couple of stitches, doc hit a vein so ended up with the most huge ridiculous pressure bandage to stop the bleeding.

Under the bandage was just a little plaster strip.

Annie car out or warranty, my mechanic is a friend of my sons so will look after me.

OMG jimmy a rat in the bed, the biggest rats I have ever seen was water rats on the Gold Coast.

You can get Rat bite fever which is some times Fatal.

Poor ladies eye sight must have been really bad.
