Surprise...

I despise smokers - they are almost always selfish human beings who have no concern for the harm they are doing others - especially children (you wouldn't believe the amount of parents I know who smoke). . I have no respect for weak animals who have no will power to shake their addictions. I always make sure I cough loudly when walking past a smoker - they get the message
Yes, I lost count of the number of pregnant women smoking, that needs to be considered child endangering or abuse. Sad in that the child has no say in it, they can't even get away from it on their own. Then after they are born, they have to ride in the car with it from their parrents and / or who else happends to come along.
The coughing never seems to work in my case, although I have had the police called on me for coughing and choking on it tryin to breathe.

Drinking alcohol is a filthy and disgusting habit, all it does is destroy your brain, damage your insides, age your body and make you sick and stupid There are no valid plausible reasons for drinking alcohol, none whatsoever, makes no sense why someone would want to drink poisonous mind numbing liver destroying alcohol, yet they do and around children. You would be amazed at how many parents drink alcohol and drink drive. I can't wait until a government takes on the alcohol industry and taxes alcohol the same way tobacco is taxed - then I would like to see plain packaging with gross pictures of drunks and alcohol related health problem plastered all over the bottles, cans etc.
I thought this topic was about smoking.. At least with acohol, whoever is drinking it isn't affecting other's ability to breathe clean air. If they want to destroy their own health with pills, acohol, needles, ect. just so long as it don't float through the air carried by wind natural or from fans in the workplace, least it don't force me to do their drug of choice.
The effects of acohol, can spill over to others if your pregnant or drink and drive, however it's not very common to see the act of drinking acohol in public the way you see smoking. Even if someone thinks your drinking acohol and your not, this can happen,

When you smoke, you force it on other people. Many smokers don't realize or believe it, but their smoke can travel futher than they think. In the workplace, fans can pull it in from the outside when the door is proped open in sumertime to keep things cool in a very hot and sweaty environment. Same at a laundrymat, even from across a parking lot if the natural wind takes it near the entrance and a fan brings it in.
There are some smokers who do try more than others, make the effort to keep it away from non smokers who is bothered by it. I do thank them for the effort, thats means alot, but fact is it don't always work. It would be far better, and mean so much more for them to just stop smoking, or break the habit. I know alot of good people who smoke, worthwhile people, funny people, good personality, too bad I have to avoid them. In their defence, it is a very addictive drug and not easy to break free from.
Best i guess to never start, don't give it a chance to make you it's slave.

Thanks boris.....got quite a few giggles reading your comments on here LOL
I agree re. drinking and alcohol here in Australia though. Absolutely DISGUSTING. ......alcohol and it's blatant AB use in Oz is appalling and seriously dangerous.
Cigarette breath may stink but someone who has quaffed a good part of a vodka bottle then taken the steering wheel of a vehicle would not be as offensive??

I was only attempting to highlight the venom that some feel is their right to attack smokers with, I don't know where you live softailjoanie but alcohol affects many people beyond those who drink it - domestic violence, street violence, child abuse, family breakdown, car crashes and foetal alcohol disorder. It may not be common to see this "out in public" but the stats speak for themselves.
Bottle babies: the devastation of foetal alcohol spectrum disorders
According to the 2013 National Drug Strategy Household Survey, 47 per cent of pregnant women still drink. "They would have taken orange juice off the market years ago if it could cause so much brain damage," says Sue Miers.

What about the fumes from car exhausts versus cigarette smoke?
"Ok, well, if your kids had to spend time in a garage with the door closed with me chain smoking inside or with you and your car running, which would you choose?"
If I have to spend half a day in Melbourne, I come home feeling sick for two or three days. I'd rather walk past a smoker than past hundreds of cars.
