Daughter Granddaughter and I spent a day at beautiful Finch Hatton Gorge in Eungella National Park while I was the on holidays recently
The cooling canopy of the rainforest , the mountain breezes, and the water cascading over the rock kept us cool but by the time we got to the Wheel of Fire rockpool, we were ready for a dip.
(not my own pic)
It was freezing but felt good. After a while lol. We were sitting on that submerged log when we saw movement in the water. It was big fat eel winding it's way around the rocks. We didn't stay in much longer after that.
Thoroughly reccommend a visit to Finch Hatton if you're ever travelling through North Qld.

It does look lovely.
Eeels aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh
When I was 4 I went fishing with dad and i caught an eel. I thought it was a snake so off I went full throttle little legs flying up the embankment with me yelling snake daddy snake whilst this thing was chasing me and keeping right behind me.
It took a while of dad yelling drop the line baby drop the line
I actually remember it. Traumarised I was.
