Cheapest way for someone to get rid of an unwanted cat is to release it in the bush,(hence we now have a
major problem due to those irresponsible people).
Then you get numbskull's like Bardot "protecting" them,(if they are left alone they will destroy more of our
wildlife).
They need to put some of that wildlife in her hands and then tell that a single cat can kill a thousand of them
each year,
My OH had cats for years and they were always "fixed" and we've handed in dozens of cats and kittens that
were abandoned because the previous "owners" didn't do the right thing.
A feral cat is one of the most vicious and aggressive animals you'll see and they'll try and tear you to pieces,
(we always had a sturdy metal cat carrier to put them in).
My personnel opinion on cats is best kept quiet,

Another way of describing "feral" cats is cats who are untamed or cats who have returned to the wild after being tamed. Whichever, they are masterful and brilliant at surviving without human support. But in our world they are too brilliant and therefore dangerous. Unfortunately they have to be culled because we cannot beat them without resorting to such harsh measures. Surely, you have to respect their natural ability to survive, even if we can't allow it!

It's not their 'brilliance' that is the problem.
They are desperate and vicious and kill native wildlife. That's the problem, apart from the people who dump them in the first place.

'n it would be solved so easily IF it was made a law that all non main registered cat/s MUST be de sexed and kept on their owners' property ..... I cant let my dogs roam the street by themselves, so why can cat owners?

Since Nov 1st 2013 all cats in Western Auustralia are required to be registered, desexed and microchipped.

The probem, of course, is that this law is almost impossible to police.

That has been the case in NSW since 1998 Deb.

It has to be done. Australia's wildlife needs to be protectd from introduced species.

Who was the international (female) doofus who opened her mouth against crutching & mulesing Aussie sheep? Ended up having to eat humble pie when shown pics of flyblown animals!
I'm for animals; But hate PETA & other "celebrity" activists who know nothing before they shoot off their mouths erroneously!
Yes; I'm a cat person. I have 4 indoor cats. Never outside, except in a cat carrier to go to the vet when needed. All desexed & well cared for.
All 4 were rescue amimals. Eldest bloke is 18 - went to the Vet twice last week (there went all my money!); 2 x 8yo boys; & 1 @ 1yo female. All came here due to trauma. The 1yo is still a bit feral @ times. 3 of my cats were dumped as kittens; The 4th survived the Black Saturday bushfires & was going to be put down by the Cat Protection Society due to smoke inhalation & etc. My daughter was working there for the Uni holidays over that Summer & brought him home to save Phoenix.
Riversong (the 1yo) was just young enough to be an only mildly antisocial feral when we rescued her from the Lost Dog's Home. She's improved with time & care, but I doubt anyone else would have given her a home. Very pretty tiny kitty; But sometimes has a bad attitude!

I actually think it might have been Pink - Alecia Moore - Who shot her mouth off on sheep care.

PETA's campaign against mulesing was backed by celebrities such as actress Toni Collette, US singer Pink and
tennis ace Martina Navratilova.
Both Collette and Pink withdrew their support, complaining PETA had misled them about the efficacy of the
alternative methods.

I'm not sure how she justifies putting the "rights' of one animal ahead of the "rights" of another, or, in this instance, many other animals.
