I agree , but no additional spending requirements for home improvements and the option of furnishings etc , also include property improvements like landscaping , structures like man/woman caves , 5 star cat palace , classy pigeon loft , all weather gym equipped gazebo etc  - involve as many types of tradies as possible and widen fund recipients

I didn't even get the first COVID payment as I am a self funded retiree (ie on superanuation).

My mother got it and she was certain I would get it because she is living on my late father's super.  But as I pointed out, she is also a Veteran's Affairs Gold Card holder and that is how she was entitled to the money.

The Liberals sure know how to set restrictions to these 'generous offers'.  My bathroom needs remodelling as I need more space for the walker frame, the flooring needs to be safety (non-slip) and the shower needs to be walk in with no step.  I was't planning to spend $150K to do it though!  Even if I threw in upgrading the kitchen (deep low cupboards I can't reach into, power points also out of reach and chipped and damaged doors and laminate) it still wouldn't come to the $150K I don't have.

I hate this government.  Every time I see Scomo on TV I can't change the channel fast enough.

Zanadoo, it depends if you have some money to spare on the bathroom.  It can be done cheaply.

I just had mine done so I could shower safely.  I kept falling - the shower was over the bath.

I had hospital grade flooring installed without a step into the shower. All up the whole remodelling cost $11K, but I reckon, with hindsite, I could have had it cheaper.

Result -

Everyone has permission to say 'EWWWWW' at the old bathroom  hahahaha

I can get my walker into the shower if I need to, and I had a fold-up seat installed if you look closely.

I also got some money from home insurance for leaking taps rotting the floorboards.

$3K off the total, so that was good.

Aploogies for being off topic.
