Guidelines for posting. Community Service Announcement

I thought this might be of help.:|

It isn't to me..... as it is not applicable to what I have concerns about..........

If the posting content or style of a particular member is causing problems for you, there is a feature available to ignore all posted content from that member. This allows you to avoid unwanted or undesirable post
content. You can learn more about this function here:
http://community.ebay.com.au/help.jspa#setprofile

Any posts that explicitly violate the eBay Board Usage Policy
http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/everyone-ov.html

can be reported for review.
To report a post, click the “Report Abuse” link located on every post, and select the violation from the pull-down menu.

Alternatively, you might choose to start an eBay Group
http://community.ebay.com.au/help.jspa#groups

As a Group Leader, you can select either a public or private setting and either allow public participation or limit the membership to a specific subset of friends and
acquaintances which will allow you to restrict the conversation to only those with whom you wish to engage.

It just happened to be done by a very sick person.

A Llama spured on by its owner/rider can achieve almost anything 😉

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Re: Guidelines for posting. Community Service Announcement

I had lots of posts dedicated to me, not even going to mention them but it went on for 3 years, that is a heck of a waste of time.

It would go into days of posting, only a very sad sick person could do that.

Really I think it is sad but funny why someone would bother, These people have never met me in person.

The people I have met from ebay have all been lovely people.

Re: Guidelines for posting. Community Service Announcement

It does seem strange that posts that clearly breach the posting rules, as did recent ones, stay there for quite awhile.

I posted a link to the fresh food people recently when someone was looking for an item, the post disappeared in a flash. That could be automatic though, links detected and removed.

I had 2 posts, quite awhile ago but on CS, reported as adult/pornographic material. No way could they have fitted that category.. one was a pic of a black cat... that is why I think sometimes reported posts aren't read by a human. I posted that view recently and Mary CG, replied that they are all read by people first.

Why would people be PAID to read reported posts on a simple chat board?...... It doesn't make sense!!.... I have been told on a number of occasions that these boards Are constantly moderated by people but I don't believe it!

On the other hand the way reported posts are dealt with (whether by person or computer ) doesn't make sense either!!.... I  also wonder about whether reported posts are sorted fairly, that is if moderators are involved somewhere along the line.

Re: Guidelines for posting. Community Service Announcement

Should be a time limit on reporting old posts too... if no one has noticed a particular post in 3 weeks or more, then it obviously not offensive to 99.9% of posters/lurkers.

I get answers.....not many to my satisfaction though, as above. They must have read my email and had to have been a human replying with all those links, surely?

Az I always get a reply, so I know they have a least read that.

I notice they do not put names on the answers now, so not so personal LOL

I'm guessing that it is not a very professional process, Lion!!..... They probably look at each case and make an arbitrary decision on the spot, following no particular protocol!!

Is that right Moderators????
