Your argument is a full of holes as Poddster's socks............

First of all, without convictions, you have a legal right to own a firearm, unless you are deemed mentally unstable.

Second, it's not a gun registration, it's a background check..........how do we know who is a felon or who is mentally unstable without investigating their background?  If gun registration is a violation of the fourth amendment, so is vehicle registration.

Third.........why make it even easier for criminals to obtain firearms?

Fourth........gun laws don't deny citizens weapons, they only deny certain weapons.........Australia has a gun ownership percentage of under 5%, yet most feel quite safe in their homes.........so your argument has no validity.

I advocate the banning of the brutal blood sport that panders to the twisted needs of a multitude of spectators. i realise that the masses have to have some inane talking point from Thursdays to Tuesdays to occupy their otherwise idle minds and keep them from putting any effort into more serious and worthwhile issues. I refer to football of course 🙂

I turned round and said I think due to the very high number of injuries and cost to the state your daughters should not be allowed to play netball and forthwith, all netballs and netball courts would be shutdown and confiscated. And that all parents that showed emotion while daughters wwere playing would be banned from driving and the cars forfeighted to the state.

She should have countered with:  How many children have been killed or killed someone else by picking up a net ball and pointing it at someone?  How many participants in netball have been killed?    Now look at target shooting........Kyle and his friend dead at a gun range.........a 9 year old killed her instructor at an Arizona gun range..........a boy killed himself with an Uzi at a Sportsmans' club.

I'll point it out once again...........cars, busses, and trucks are a means of transportation...........guns' only function is to propel a lead slug at a target, be it human, animal, or an inanimate object.

Cars, busses and trucks only fuction is to transport people, stuff, from one place to another etc.

If you get so angry that you can't control it or think you can't control it, then one could say that you are a danger to those around you including your children, grand children, especially if other weapons are available like knives and therefore are unsafe or unfit to be a parent, grand parent.
