Letterbox flyers call Opposition Leader Tony Abbott a 'sleazy moral coward' and 'maggot' - Jason Yat-Sen

LABOR'S star recruit for the seat of Bennelong has been drawn into a dirty tricks scandal after the circulation of a flyer that describes Tony Abbott as a "sleazy moral coward".

Jason Yat-Sen Li, hand-picked by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, last night denied any involvement with the pamphlet despite claims it was dropped into residents' letterboxes by an ALP supporter.

Rosie Dekker, a resident of Smith St, Ryde for 17 years, said yesterday she was disgusted by the material delivered by a man wearing a shirt supporting Jason Yat-Sen Li.

"I was outside my flat at the letterboxes talking to a neighbour and saw a young, tall Asian man wearing a red T-shirt," Ms Dekker said.

"All I saw on the shirt was Yat-Sen on the front and he was putting stuff in our letterboxes.

"I didn't pay much attention to it. My neighbour went to his letterbox and looked shocked when he looked at it. I read it and my temper rose, my blood pressure was about to hit the roof.''

The pamphlet reads in part: "Vote no to the Abbott maggot.

Protect your wife and daughters - you have the power. Do you want a sleazy moral coward to have control over your daughter's body and dictate what she can and can't do with your own body? Remember this "good" family man abandoned what he thought was his own baby son."

"Like Barry O'Farrell, Tony Abbott will rape your sons and daughters' public school of billions of funds but protect Catholic paedophile schools with extra funding."

We are witness to the dirtiest, dishonest, scare campaign ever waged in this country.

Labor have no moral bottom & are intimidating many Conservative candidates across Western Sydney.

Labor don't care if they leave a scorched earth,, smouldering ruin of the politic, they don't care how much they trash their own brand either. Their actions over the last 6 years & in this campaign is nothing short of appalling, they deserve to lose their seats & to disappear from the political scene.

Now they are talking Shorten for opp leader after they knife Rudd, AGAIN. This move will ensure they stay in oppostion for many years.  The politic inside the Labor party is poisonous.

This country will take decades to recover from them, Australians won't forget & Labor should be ashamed of themselves.

Ya know, I came in here to say something like - "Now that's the just being made up" (about Mr Abbott) "no one would do that and claim to be from a party etc" (fair enough some redneck might)

Then I saw the collage about Ms. Gillard, and yes, I remember seeing some of those (probably here) and right now I am embarrassed that I live in a country where it is OK for people to publicly make comments about their leaders like that.

I read about the menu for Ms Gillard on here, and I didn't agree with it and was actually in disbelief that ti was real, I guess I just find it hard to comprehend that peoplke would disrespect our PM like that.

I'm thinking that that flyer in the OP wasn't endorsed by Labour was it? Just some redneck's creation?

Sophie Mirrabella hired a bus load of students from her old uni and took them to Indi for the weekend.  During the weekend her opponents posters got destroyed or shifted to wrong places. Posters on private property got destroyed or removed.

Sophie won't be missed by many if she loses.

Notice how the left wont make a comment on the subject of the post or say how disgusting that this phamphlet is/was.  If it was put out by the LNP it I would like LNP supporters condem it.... BUT NO NOT THE left luvvies......

The Opposition Leader and former prime minister once enjoyed a mutual affection for each other, but as Mr Abbott told the ABC's Kitchen Cabinet, this was set aside in the "rugged contest" of three years of a hung parliament.

"I'm sure the day will come when we can be genial and respectful again," Mr Abbott told host Annabel Crabb.

In fact we had quite a genial and respectful exchange in an airport lounge a few weeks ago

When they happened upon each other at the airport lounge, Mr Abbott said to Ms Gillard, "You've been through a pretty tough time" and "she agreed that yes, it had been a pretty tough time but that was the kind of thing that tended to happen in the rough and tough business we're in".

It was on Facebook, it was just a compilation of some of the filth that LNP supporters stooped to; the difference is that this sort of thing have been published in newspapers and broadcast by shock jocks.  Some obviously do not like to be reminded.

As I said previously:

"The LNP and their supporters have been using abusive terms about Gillard for years, and you (NW & co) were parroting them here ad nauseaum; funny that if somebody uses strong term about Abbott you get so outraged."
