Totally agree, if you a meant to be staying at home, why do you need to attend a hairdresser? Surely people aren't that vain at a time like this?

Coronavirus shutdowns don't apply to barbershops and hair salons. But is it safe to get a haircut?

"When you blow-dry someone's hair, you are going to be blowing particles of skin around and so on, and they could carry the virus as well," she says.

It occurred to me today why hairdressers may be considered an essential service. Whilst many of us are at home in isolation there are still many people who are still working and need to keep their personal presentation in mind.

So, looking gorgeous is more important then being on a ventilator fighting

for your life?

OK

To the healthy? Yes!

Who said anything about being in PJ's whilst working?

This discussion is about hairdresser's being forced to work

under conditions which are unacceptable. Only Inconsiderate

self important selfish women would consider being preened

under these circumstances.

They are not being forced.

I think you will find they are being forced because they can't

seek Centrelink support unless their job has closed.

They're being forced because they are mainly self-employed. They have responsubility to their clients and to their own livliehood. Not running sooking to Centrelink.
