We visited the COPE (Cooperative Orthotic and Prosthetic Enterprise) centre when we were in Laos earlier this year more here

It was one of the most moving experiences of my life.

I just saw a really horrific report on the 7.30 report about landmines in Afghanistan. They were talking about 55,000 civilians losing their limbs a year (I think that was the figure) and a great majority were children.
