Has Community Spirit lost its Community Spirit?
Certainly feels a different place to me

There are too many nasties around these days,
Are you serious??!! There is hardly anyone left, let alone 'nasty' people. Sure, there are a couple around who throw cold water on fun threads, not that theres many started these days. There is heated debate going on, but I dont see anything nasty in there either.
At least if there were a few 'nasties' floating about, this place would not be so dull.
*waves* to Hawk 🙂
you must have rose coloured glasses on.

Maybe Im just objective. Some people need to lighten up, not take everything personally and grow a thicker skin.

There are enogh people sniping at each other off line - dont need to sit and read that garbage here.
Some good robust discussions, or even arguments are fine but the continual digs from some people here towards others are ridiculous.

It's pretty much the same as always, just a lot less ppl posting, in my opinion.
In many ways, I like it better than the way it was in the old CW days. There were some real nasties around back then.

is this another "good old days" thread? Agrees with Lis and Gill

I often wonder where DDU got to, as well.

Lis doesn't have rose coloured glasses on. She sees exactly what is there. The "nice" people have always been the problem because they feel the need to moderate the board themselves by reporting every controversial post they see. They think/thought that the board would be a much better place if all the controversial posters left. The problem is that it just left a whole lot of boring "nice" people who no-one really wants to read. Of course the "nice" people aren't really that nice at all because they wouldn't be reporting everything/everyone they don't like in the first place.
That isn't to say that there aren't some genuinely nice people here. There are. You don't have to get involved in controversial threads if you don't want to. The truly nice people take the attitude "each to their own" and read something more to their taste instead of reporting what they don't consider suitable.
It will never cease to amaze me the level of outrage expressed by some people on a thread that they find distasteful. The part that never ceases to amaze me the most is that those people will stay on the thread as long as it survives. Surely if you were truly that offended by something you might state it once in the thread (if you bothered at all) and then stay out of the thread. But no....
