I did have one very best friend, other than the other one I mentioned. This one was my next door neighbour, she turned out to be the best friend that I had ever had. We were friends for 32yrs. we saw each other and our families through thick and thin, in the end, we were just like an extended family.
Both my kids loved her and her husband, I had to go to hospital on numerous occasions, and both my kids were looked after by my neighbour.
We shared birthdays, weddings, deaths everything, we shared and I trusted her and her OH with my life................Her hubby died in 2006, we went to the funeral and I spent every moment after that with her.
Then in 2003 she died, I was heart broken as I had lost the best friend I had ever had, she meant the world to me and my family, every year I take flowers to her grave on the Anniversary.
My daughter named her daughter after her, sadly my neighbour died before my youngest grandchild was born.
These days, we keep intouch with her daughters as they are still family to us.
Sometimes you do find that special friend, but I will never find another one like my beloved neighbour.
