Vintage, apparently its the bees knees atm. Obtainable at vitamin shops. I tried to take them but they made me sick.
I took a low dose from the chemist but it did nothing. So, I took a much higher dose only to become sick with stomach pains. So, I am back on Brufen. Worth a try though. I am sensitive to so many things but it may just work for other people. My OH can take it no problems

Morning all:-)
Crosby, try all options before you decide on an operation.......yrs. ago when I was in traction for 2 weeks, I saw a top specialist in NSW, he told me under no circumstances ever consider having an operation, as I may never walk again.
Now yrs later, I have been told an operation is out of the question for my back.
Also, I have a girlfriend that had a back operation & she was told it would make her pain free.........she is in more pain since having the operation than before.
So, please try everything, before deciding.
Try what Judy and Vintage have suggested, even going to see a good naturopath can help. My BIL is a naruropath and chemist, when I see him next I will ask him.
Have a good saturday, everyone.

Hi Pam, Vintage, Crosby, Count and all friends....:-)
I got into so much mischief today...went shopping on my own, had lunch, a haircut, purchased some sandals, a handbag & 2 tops. I don't think I should be let loose again :^O
Seriously though. There is nothing like shopping on your own. I got everything done that I wanted to do. No outside influences. My taste alone. Of course the downside is I only have myself to blame if I regret my bargain buys ๐
I do hope you are all having a great weekend xxx

Good evening Pam, Judy, Vintage and the Count.:-)
Sounds like you had a heck of a day out, Judy.:-) To answer your earlier question, I'm taking glucosamine and fish oil, plus ibuprofen as an anti-inflammatory.
I agree, Pam, that I should explore every alternative before opting for surgery. Hopefully I'll continue to see some improvement due to the physiotherapy. I'm interested to hear what the back specialist has to say but at this stage they haven't even given me an appointment date.
I hope everyone's having a great weekend.

Hi Crosby
Sounds like you are on the right track. I do hope it all works for you (fingers crossed). Physio should help you a lot. Glucosamine & fish oil will take about 3 months to kick in, so stay with it xxx

Good evening Judy, Crosby, Vintage and the elusive Count:-D
The public system takes for ever, but with a bit of luck maybe while you are waiting Crosby, something may just come up that will help your back.
Physio, unfortunately didnt help me, mainly because I was born with my spinal problems & now, I dont think I would trust anyone other than the pain management dr. to touch my spine as it is so thin down at the base of the spine, that showed up in the MRI I had recently.
Oestopaths (sp) I have never been to one, but as friend of mine is going now, and from what she says they are very good, and they dont crunch the spine like Chiros do, so you could try that, maybe, also Remedial Masages or sports masages can be helpful to, but if you go that track, make sure they are good ones.
I cant have them, as they just take one look at my spine and wont touch it.
They are just over avenues that you can look into.
Agree with Judy, the Glucosamine & fish oil do take awhile to work, but stay with it.
Anyway my w/end was dull and so was the weather, had the grandies friday night, wore me out mentally and physically.
I will finish on a good note, Isla went back to the hospital for her 6 monthly visit for her hip..........instead of having to go back in another 6 months, she doesnt have to go back for 2yrs. The specialists said her hip was in place and they were happy with her progress and by the time she goes back, her limp and the way she walks should be normal as well..........my DD was elated, something had gone right for a change............goodnight:-)

Good news Pam for Isla. You must be so relieved
I had another wonderful day eating fish & chips with Allan for lunch by the water in the sunshine
It is a bit lonely without the hustle and bustle of family now they are gone, but we are enjoying each other's company & getting back into everyday life
I have had a great weekend & I do hope you have too
Love to Crosby & fans xxx
