do you also realise that when you buy new tieres for your can you pay a $10 levy for a disposal fee of the old tire.
Did you also know that most are then shipped to places like India to be burnt, so much for the environment and our government knows this takes place and allows it
google burning tires in india
Did you also know that our scrap copper wire is shipped to third world countries like India to have the plastic burnt of it so it can be recycled

Bob jane dont charge the levy in victoria on tires. before they were dumped on properties in the western district. My uncle had a large electrical business in Adelaide, he used to burn the plastic off himself like most.. so there were lots of small fires once. lots of small fires have much the same effect i'd say.
its difficult to control what happens in India, but a cap and trade system would encourage them to stop those practices.. and one is in the pipeline.

The only thing I could find relating to tires in India is that they cut them up to make inexpensive shoes out of... Great idea

what I am saying is the whole system is corrupt and we are all being conned.
They are as in our Government telling us we need to do more and charging a carbon tax yet are allowing practices like those mentioned to go on without doing any thing to stamp it out because it happens where no one can see it.
It would be so simple to make sure every thing going out of this country as scrap has to be processed to some standard or it doesn't get shipped.
But it doesn't suit them to actually do something to prevent mass pollution and environment vandalism as long as they can rip us off.
Back yard burning has been banned in SA for 30 years in residential areas now and areas like I am in where we can burn we can only burn things like branches and twigs to reduce fire risks, things like plastic and rubber are totally banned

how are you being ripped off ?
by paying for 'the advertiser' or wasting bandwidth on UK rubbish tabloids.?
since the introduction of the carbon tax emissions from electricity production is down 8.5 per cent in six months. it works .

By a tax thats not doing any thing besides reducing demand by pumping prices as a quick cash grab with a dodgy tax while allowing pollution to carry on by turning a blind eye to what is being done with our waste in third world countries, it all seems rather hypocritical to me while claiming to be so concerned about global changes.

an 8.6 % reduction in electricity emissions is something, not nothing. it isn't hard to understand. i'll leave you to it.
