Sami and Yumi's last breakfast show this morning, yippee!. While some of their topics made me cringe, every now and again they'd come up with a good one.
Like this morning, listeners were invited to call in and relate their stories about being picked up in traffic,
one caller said she was travelling on a bus in a foreign country when a motorcycle rider drew level and threw a rose at her through the window, beckoning her to come out. The bus stopped, she got out and hopped on the back and rode off into a wild romantic fling.
Another caller said she used to be in the same routine with another driver and they stopped at the same traffic lights next to each other for weeks. The other driver used to smile and wave every time and finally held up a piece of paper with his ph number. She called the number and they pulled over and started talking to each other. 17 years and 3 kids later they are still happily married.
One young lass called to relate her trip up from Melbourne when she was in a car with her younger sister following her Dad, relocating to Sydney. Two guys kept pulling level with the girls flirting with them. At first she tried to ignore them but after a good look decided one of them was really cute. When the car drew level again the guy shouted out his phone no and the younger sister entered it into her phone. The phone call was made which resulted in a few dates but eventually it petered out.
I've been in a few situations where I've traded looks and smiles with another driver.
So, have you ever been picked up in traffic?

No. Once I step off the kerb I am still agile enough to make it to the other side before any oncoming traffic comes along LOL

I was walking around campus and a guy started trying to chat me up, leaning out his car window doing a street crawl, with a cheesy grin and suddenly hit the car in front of him with a loud crash. That kinda wiped the cheesy grin off his face real fast. The guy in the front car got out and they started yelling at each other. I picked up my walking pace
I was also proposed to by the Greek guy driving the bus from Athens to London. He was devastated I kept saying thanks but no thanks. My fellow passengers kept pleading with me to accept his hand in marriage because they were worried his love sickness would result in us being driven off the side of a cliff.
