today it was confirmed that my beloved dog has lymphoma and will go to rainbow bridge this weekend

I would like to have had my heart broken, but my mother drumed it into me at an early age, never give your whole heart to anyone and you will never be badly hurt.

But I really like this other saying If you have been badly hurt you have been beautifully loved, so I would have liked to try such a love out.
