The thread is definitely current.

This occurs when replying to a post & attempting to insert an image.

I was yesterday. I closed all tabs, deleted cookies, resigned in and it worked.

Signing in and out may have done the trick, but I deleted the cookies anyway.

Yes. It started, for me, about two days ago.

I wait, as it suggests, then try again. Sometimes I get through, sometimes I don't.

I don't know why it's doing that, and yes, it's frustrating.
