The Aussie wine industry has an over supply of wine due to covid, Chinese boycotts and inflation.
So lets help our fellow buddies in that industry and drink more wine. 🙂
Afterall wine oclock seems to be earlier these days and chardy's, shiraz's are household names.
We can do it, get with the spirit. 🙂
Note - this is a little tongue in cheek and drink responsibly of course. 😉

It’s a sobering thought.

I have been helping the cause lately, but will try harder. 😇

The problems started well before covid etc. Mass plantings throughout the 90s and early 2000s drove the prices down that wine makers paid for grapes. Growers were tearing out vines and selling off their water allocations going back a decade and a half ago. Speaking as someone who worked in the industry.

Well there ya go. It appears the problem runs deep.
Thanks for the input myoclon.
We really need to support the industry more than ever.
I had an idea to get restaurants all over Australia focus on Aussie wine based sauces for many dishes through The Grape Growers Associations.
Also vinegar can be made from good or spoilt wine.

I used to get offered a parting gift of wines to take with me after I'd finished a job - I worked as a vine grafter. I'd usually refuse as I'm not a drinker and I'm pretty fussy. However, I did accept on a few occasions and here's a few I can recommend. No.4 is not from a winery I worked for, but if you're after something very special.....👍
No.1 Toppers Mountain Gewurtztraminer - Tingha N.S.W $35. The only white on the list.
No.2 Versace Wines Shiraz MacDonald Park S.A $60
No.3 Jasper Hill "Georgia's Paddock" Shiraz Heathcote Vic $85
Jim Barry " The Armagh" Shiraz Clare Valley S.A $475.

No 4 is the only one I have heard of.
Hopefully one day I may get to try it.
The other 2 reds I shall look out for on special occasions.
Here are some of my suggestions for red drinkers and most of them reasonably priced.
1. Dark side of the moon.
2. Redman
3. The Barossan
4. Barossa Ink
5. Gentleman's Collection
6. Taylors Cab Sav or Shiraz.
7. Wynns Coonawarra.
8. Pepperjack
9. Mamre Brook
10. Matthew's Road
And of course most Penfold's. Especially the Baby Grange (389) but that's a little costly.
