No worries either way.

Will you be keeping the name, or call him your own way?

i'm happy with his name however its spelled

i stuck with FOO and that didnt take long to grow on me.

it was fun watching the look on peoples faces when i told them

i got a lot of 'what?s' and 'how do you spell that?s'

i cant remember the last time a named an animal myself, i nearly allways out source it.

my first kitten when i was about 13, my little sister named 'trixy'

even rosie was chosen by my mum before she got her demtia.

because she loved roses.

I guess you won't know until you've got to know each other.

Hi, my names LEYROY

The most common spelling is Leroy.  If you are happy to keep his name I would use the most common spelling.  It makes life easier for everyone.

Talking of strange names.....when my girls were very small we found a stray cat in the neighbour's yard when we were watering the garden while she was away.  It was Christmas time and the shops were closed for 4 days.  All I had in the freezer that was suitable for him was a small amount of mince.  Once that was gone I did not know what to give him until I noticed my youngest put her breakfast bowl on the floor and he licked it clean with obvious enjoyment.  So he ate weetbix for 2 days and became known as Bixie.

Hi, my names LEYROY

his name will most likey be on the gap paperwork

i will have to sign the foster to adopt agreement.

i think there is a reduced charge for foster dogs, $100 instead of $150

bargain in my opinion.

the names bit must keep them busy comming up with new names

i dont know if they use names multiple times

i did check out the available dogs on the web site but cat friendlies hardly ever get put on there.

sadly they all have that one line in the description

'no cat tolerance'

Hi, my names LEYROY

i must find out about desexing if its not been done yet

can i use my local vet or do i have to go to their vet

also micro chipping

they supply food and coats and collar/lead/muzzle

he has to wear a muzzle until he gets his 'green collar'

hopefully i can train him to pass

its the great unknown, can i train a greyhound to do all the things on the list in 6 weeks!

Hi, my names LEYROY

its not a simple process

in fact when i got foo it was said i was custodian so to speak of him, he remained gap property.

in as much as at any time if i could no longer care for him he could be returned no questions asked.

in a way thats good as if something really bad was to happen to me its comforting to know he has a place to go in a last resort situation.

my brother and sister in law have allready said in the event of my being not able to care for foo they would take him in, they loved him as much as i did.

i'm pretty sure the same will apply to leyroy.

they only live 5 houses down my street and have 3 little dogs themselves

we would often walk together

Hi, my names LEYROY

1 more hour, nerves are really kicking in now

ive been ready for 3 hours

i know i'll be fine 5 minutes into the drive.

its really only that new highway with exits and entrys i'm worried about now

oh and the whole meeting new people ect

i keep telling myself, i step at a time

get to port wakefiend, then get to virginia, then to the turnoff onto the new highway, then the turn off off the new highway, then the street to the gap.

comming hime, reverse the process.

by 5:30 i should be home again.

Hi, my names LEYROY

Yes, David, one step at a time.

But you'll have company on the way home.

Someone to talk to, so he gets used to your soothing voice.

I think the trip home will be more exciting than going there.

Hope you give Rosie a good talking to, to be extra nice to her new house mate
