I think the farmers are justified in their concerns. I think this is a good choice. All those that live in big cities and feel that a foreign country would do a better job that an Aussie one maybe needs to go and speak to a farmer. 

I know there was some farmers that wanted the deal to go ahead but I am yet to meet one.

 there are plenty of shareholder farmers who are miffed, the shares lost 1/4 of their value after the anouncement. i also noticed hockey said 'not at this time'  which means later, as their political capital is dipping atm.

Right. So we are to feel pity for any politician who one minute appears to be speaking from their heart and next minute appears to be being bullied? What a lot of rot!! PLEASE! No politician can be trusted. What they utter is 99% rehearsed lies. They are told what to say especially in prep for media delivery. .....they are not legally accountable for anything they do or anything they say. They are great actors and specialize in the art of insincerity and lying through their teeth. Give me a used car sales person any day.

okay. From great experience trying to communicate/deal with many I would say 1% are 'good' people....the other 99% are not.
