Home buyers - Section 32

Just wondering if every time you are interested in bidding at an auction for a house you need to get the section 32 looked over by a convenyancer?  What fees would be involved in this? could be quite expensive if you are not successful at auctions.  Been a long time since I purchased my house but my daughter is actively looking.  thanks in advance!
