I don't like the horse racing, hate the whips, hate it when a poor horse is PTS.
I think you've hit the spot there when you call it an "industry". That's exactly what it is, nothing to do with sport in my opinion. It belongs in the finance pages of the papers, not the sports pages.
Sport of Kings ? Pfffft. More like the industry of spivs, shonks and yobbos.

Weeeell, as my mammy always used to say when i was a kid, "Everyone is entitled to their opinion".
Sooo, i acknowledge you have shared yours.
I would like to point out that reality, for us humanses, is subjective, thus 'horse racing' does not have any innate attributes of either stupid, smart, good, bad, dull, exciting, or any other adjective one desires or needs to attach\assign to it.
'Horse racing' is simply 'horse racing' and any adjectives are attachments people place on their mental image of it in their mindtanks.
You did say, "So there", which to me denotes you are referring to some location.
I theorize this location is in your mindtank, and not on the actual 'horse racing' as i speculate you think it is.
Far as i know, only conscious beings that can think and act on those thoughts, have the capacity to behave stupidly
and thus may warrant a "stupid" label\tag\judgement.
And a 'horse race' is definately not an individual entity capable of conscious thought and action, thus i find it illogical to label 'horse racing' as stupid.
Perhaps the owners and\or carers of the horses that have died during horse races have acted stupidly...
but "horse racing is stupid"...not from my position in reality.
But, everyone is free and entitled to their personal opinion...i respectfully and simply do not agree with yours.
