It took 10 paragraphs before they mentioned - almost as an aside - that one horse had to be killed.   Jockeys have a career choice, these horses do not.

The horse racing industry is not about horses.....it is about money.

I believe that 60,000 race horses that didn't make the grade are slaughtered each year.

My figure may be wrong, but it is way up there.

Agree freshwaterbeach, horse racing should be in the finance section of the paper, not the sports section.
