Australia has experienced its hottest two years on record and high temperatures are set to continue through winter in a clear sign climate change is having an impact, a new report warns.
May 2012 to April 2014 was the hottest 24-month period ever recorded in Australia, but that is likely to be eclipsed by the two years between June 2012 and May 2014, according to the Climate Commission's latest report, Abnormal Autumn.
"We have just had an abnormally warm autumn, off the back of another very hot 'angry summer'," Climate Coun
cil Professor Will Steffen said.
"The past two-year period has delivered the hottest average temperature we have ever recorded in Australia.
"Climate change is here, it's happening, and Australians are already feeling its impact."
Everyone is going on about the glorious warm weather we're having not thinking ahead to the hot weather and bushfires wer'e going to have at the onset of summer.
Pity our poor farmers

Pretty average Autumn here, rainfall was a bit down but seems to be improving, quite cool here now, all the surrounding paddocks are now nice and green, so as long as the CFA carries out the required back burning through winter, the bushfire risk will be lessoned in Summer.

I get your drift, Rose
We're on opposite sides of the planet and our extreme weather is opposite as well.
My son lives in England, just outside of London. He says they've had some pretty good weather lately. As compared to the the bad storms and rain that lashed England and much of Europe last year, I suppose.
Here's a headline that will cheer you up (not)
Europe Storms 2014: England, Wales Have Wettest Winter in 250 Years, Met Office Confirms
"The UK Met Office says this winter has been historic as system after system have led to widespread flooding and wind damage that has reshaped shorelines.
The BBC reports the United Kingdom has had its wettest winter since records began in 1910. Separate records for England and Wales show this season has seen more rainfall than any winter since rain-tracking began in 1766.
The report also mentioned southeastern England has received more than twice the normal rainfall for an average winter."
Our farmers certainly could use some of that rain 🙂

Tonight's actually a bit cold which is a shock to the system.
An english lady at work just came back from a visit to her family, there was a wedding I think. It took her nearly a week to get over jetlag.
You don't get jetlag when you travel in cyberspace lol.
