I don't like the USA gun laws,
I won't rehash that subject again, except to say....people have no problem disagreeing with the laws of other countries, but say, "it's a different society and we have to respect their right to make their own laws", all without the insults.
welfare/
It doesn't concern me....I work for a living.
medical system,
I love it! I can see a doctor, get an MRI, and back to the doctor within a week (I was the cause of delays in my last visits)....no waiting months. And not a penny out of pocket. The ER....less than 4 hours to see a doctor, get a catscan, and evaluation.
tipping etc.
I always tip. Sometimes people trip over each other to serve me.

So pleased you like it all, I don't and never will, my choice .... Would never, ever, want to live there and yes I have been to the USA and much prefer the Australian way of life

And I prefer it here. Looks like we're both in the right place!

Apparently so 🙂 Have you been to Australia?
on 13-12-2014 10:59 PM
No and probably never will, although I would like to visit. I learned alot about your Country by visiting this board. So it was worth the visit. The thing I take away from coming here....we're more alike than different. Really....I think we're exactly the same. Afterall we come from the same place.

I get that same reaction when I go down south. Growing up around Italians (mostly) I had what might be considered a Brooklyn Italian accent (heavy). I've worked on losing it the last few years....it's pretty much gone, but you'd still hear it, lol.

I must agree that a lot of Aussies are getting to be like yanks, but quite a lot of us have resisted the metamorphosis and have retained our national identity 🙂
